The Process of Making Your Website
1. Define Specifications
This is by far the most important step in the web design process. Gaining a solid understanding of how you envision your future website will not only enable us to come up with an accurate proposal for you, but it is also crucial to meeting your satisfaction.
Communicating about website requirements via email comes naturally to us since our customers come from all around the world. We can also connect via Skype, phone, or face-to-face if that is possible. Our Skype name is GlobalNomadIT.
2. Contract Signing
We will create a document called a Scope of Work based on the specifications we have been discussing. This will serve as our contract and should include all details on pricing, timeline, and website requirements.
After the Scope of Work is signed, 50% of the project costs are due up-front. The other 50% is due when the website is finished and made live.
3. Graphic Design
The design stage is an interactive process in which we will come up with a few designs, send to you for your feedback, and then re-work it according to your suggestions.
Normally we can provide the first round of designs within 2 weeks of contract signing. The total time spent on this step depends on how quickly you give feedback and how significant your proposed changes are.
4. Conversion & Programming
The graphic design is converted to XHTML format for use on the web and we begin programming your site.
For those who want it, we can install a user-friendly program called Joomla onto your site so you can edit your site's content at any time, from any place, without having to understand technical coding.
Programming can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on the complexity of the website.
5. Addition of Content
While it sounds simple, inserting your content into the website can actually be quite tedious. Formatting, spacing, and other questions may come up as we place your text and pictures on the site. Expect to be contacted with questions as we work to make the content look perfect in the design we've made for you.
Depending on how many pages are on your site, we can normally complete this in less than a week.
6. Client Feedback #1
We will upload a beta version of your website to our test server for you to check and give feedback. We suggest you look over the site in extreme detail and give us as thorough feedback as possible.
Feedback can be given via email or over Skype. We may need 1-2 weeks to make all the changes you proposed depending on the amount and complexity of the changes.
7. Client Feedback #2
After receiving your feedback on the first beta version of your website and making all the necessary changes , we will again put your website on our test server for you to check and give feedback.
You have 1 week to send us all of your feedback, and we will do our best to have any problems you found fixed within 1 week.
8. Go Live!
Your finished website will go online at the specified domain/web address, either hosted on our servers or on a 3rd party server depending on what we arranged ahead of time with you.
Any changes you request once the website goes live will be charged separately. Some contracts may include service coupons that you can redeem when needing us to make additional changes.
9. SEO Package Installation
We can improve your new website's SEO by embedding keywords into the site and submitting your site to Google. We also implement Google Analytics for you as a part of this package, which provides you with statistics such as how many people are viewing your website, where they come from, etc.
Usually we will do this within 1 week of your site going live. Sometimes it takes a few weeks, however, before your search engine ranking is affected.
