  • Webdesign: Professional Freelancing?

    Recently I have been in contact with two different clients who asked me specifically about finishing the development of their website. Interesting point is that they shared the same kind of experience: their website was not finished according to the agreement they made with their first web-developer. They had asked a freelancer or small startup business to develop their website. But after paying the site was only finished up to 75% - the rest was never completed. The freelancer had to finish his studies and the startup got a bigger project. Are cheap and rapid web-designers indeed competitors or have they gained their place in professional web development?

Office talk

From October 2011 Ms. Li is manager in the Global Nomad office. This function is to keep the office up and running in all its facets. Below you find a short interview with her.


1. What especially do you like about Global Nomad?

I really like the idea of Global Nomad working in Tibetan nomadic areas. It is the uniqueness of having Web Design on the Qinghai Tibetan plateau in China. With the globalization of the world and the change in nomadic culture, I think the name Global Nomad is really applicable for our business. We have nomads working on website for businesses from all over the world. That is what I like.

2. In what ways do you see yourself as change agent in the office?

I would like to bring the Global Nomad team towards a more closer relationship. Than there will be more mutual understanding and we can better server our customers that need a website. When we have happy customers, this will motivate us more to be even more proficient in web development.

3. If you need to prioritize, what items are you going to work on?

  1. Bringing the team together
  2. Make more money
  3. Expand into different areas
  4. Help local people


4. What will be the biggest challenge?

I am very new to Global Nomad and just get used to nomad live'. So I don't know. Sure challenges will come, but there are there as a growing opportunity.
