Selling and Buying in China - how websites help (part 1)

Increased professionalism

General

I joined groups that are relating to IT, outsourcing, web development or business in China. Besides that I joined a few groups that are more related to technology. For example a jQuery user group and one Joomla!. The posts in the first groups I mentioned above have commonalities. You will find people that want to export from China to other parts of the world and business man from all over the world wanting to enter the Chinese market in one or another way.

Entering the Chinese Market

For those business man that want to enter the Chinese market a localized (Chinese) website is very useful and I think required if one wants to be a serious business person in China. Possible there is a great website up and running in the home country of this business. But it will not be found by your potential customers in China. First, because those company websites are often in English. Second because the Chinese business people don't use an international search engine as Google or so. They will use Baidu as main source for searches on the web. And most websites that are not hosted in China will not be included in their listing.

Another disadvantage is that Chinese people think differently and find information in a different way. So a website for targeting the Western of local market of a non-Chinese business, will likely not do so for Chinese people.

Global Nomad can help you getting a localized website that is found by local Chinese search engine's and communicate to Chinese speaking people. For this purpose you don't have to d a full corporate website. Just to be found on the web in a professional way by sharing relevant information will do.
