Self-esteem and image-building are very important in Asian shame-culture-countries as it is in the west. I guess its common for leaders to drive a certain brand car, wear a certain kind of clothes, have a watch of a good brand and behave in a certain way. Even though image is important for some leaders to become more trust-worthy, there are other aspects that results in deeper respect.

Prioritizing is very important for everybody - but especially for leaders. When setting priorities and making decisions, risk analysis is done. A cross-cultural discussion is why something is seen as risk. Why not take more risk? The answer of young fellow: ‘people don't like the small change it might go wrong'.

Putting people in new positions demands training. Matthew and Lisa together with managing director are now studying leadership. It’s a great way to get to know each other better but moreover to know the best practices in leading others.
